WOLF EEL
ANARRHICHTHYS OCELLATUS
Though not true eels, Wolf Eels are elongated fish that resemble slender eels. They may reach up to 8 feet in length and can weigh up to 40 pounds.
A Wolf Eel's diet consists of hard-shelled creatures such as oysters, clams, snails and sea urchins.
Young Wolf Eels are orange, but they turn grey as they grow into adults. They can live up to 25 years.
Did you know?
Wolf Eels may mate for life. When a pair has laid eggs, they guard the eggs together, or one fish will stay while the other goes hunting, taking turns protecting the spherical egg mass.

LEAST CONCERN (LC):
Less likely to become endangered anytime soon.
