SOUTHERN STINGRAY

Adult Southern Stingrays may grow to 6.5 feet across their pectoral fins.
Southern Stingrays feed on bivalves, worms, shrimp, crabs and small fish.
These rays are nocturnal, burying themselves in the sand during the day and hunting at night.
Did you know?
Southern Stingrays are ovoviviparous. This means the female carries her eggs within her body until they hatch. In this species they remain in her body and are nourished by uterine milk once their egg yolk sac runs out.
