COCKATIEL

NYMPHICUS HOLLANDICUS

Cockatiels are the smallest members of the cockatoo family. They can be curious and social birds, when given opportunities to interact with others, and with humans.

More quiet than most birds in the parrot family, Cockatiels can learn to mimic sounds and whistles. They can even mimic household noises like alarm clocks and ringing phones!

Did you know?

In the wild, Cockatiels keep their nails trimmed by jumping on branches and rocks. In captivity, Cockatiels get manicures! Their nails are trimmed and filed every couple of months.
